Crossroads

I'm rather stuck on something. You see, on the site that I post my art on, fanart for different shows and books is very popular, but people still post original things on there. Now, the majority of my gallery is my original work. I have maybe three pieces of fanart on there, and every once in a while I'll post fanart. My page isn't very popular xD That's because I don't post fanart. People rarely search for the tags that I have on my art, and if they do, they probably won't see mine. xD Anyways, I'm wondering if I should just start drawing fanart more often, I mean, I want people to see my original art... but I'm not a big fan of drawing fanart. =\ They're not my characters, and I prefer to draw Nyx(she is my favorite original character. =3) then to draw say, Sakura, from a show called Naruto. Its really really popular, and I love the show, but again it comes down to, do I really want to sell myself out for pageviews? I just don't know... =\
